What was ash first pokemon team
Either way, he's had many different teams over the years. His Kanto team is a fan favorite, obviously. We won't be looking at Lapras as they used that poor thing as a glorified boat or Primeape as Ash abandoned him after like Without any further ado, let's get into it.
Are we really surprised? Pidgeot was never used much in battle and, unfortunately, was mainly used to fly around and tell Ash when he saw Team Rocket. What an existence Still, Pidgeot did complete his role well.
He still was clearly a great and valued part of Ash's team, even if he didn't get to battle as much as we would have liked to see. Responsible for literally all of the tears that have ever been shed, we have Butterfree. Unfortunately, once he saw the most beautiful Butterfree that was pink because pink means girl obviously , he knew that he was in love.
While Ash had no major recurring rival in Hoenn, he did encounter certain Trainers multiple times and formed friendly rivalries with them. One such friend was Morrison , who was very similar to and just as competitive as Ash and was first introduced close to the end of the group's travels in Hoenn. Just like the Indigo Plateau and Silver Conferences, Ash did not win the Ever Grande Conference , but he came very close before losing to Tyson , who went on to win the tournament.
He decided to take on the Battle Frontier and was surprised but happy to learn that Brock, May, and Max would join him on this adventure as well. Like before, he took only Pikachu with him at first but brought his Aipom along when she snuck onto the ship Ash was leaving on. While Brock did not directly accompany Ash to Sinnoh, he did meet with him while there and traveled with him through Sinnoh as he had for Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn.
Ash enthusiastically supported Dawn in her endeavors to become a Top Coordinator. Unlike May, he watched all of Dawn's Contests without being distracted by the need to train.
Just as he supported Dawn in her Contests, she supported him in his Gym battles. While traveling through Sinnoh, Ash formed a heated rivalry with a Trainer named Paul. Throughout Ash's journey, Paul would constantly put him down and the two often argued over their nearly opposite training styles.
Their rivalry came to a head after they competed in a Tag Battle Tournament together, when Paul released his Chimchar after it failed to meet his expectations. Ash recognized that he had to take Paul more seriously and cautiously in the future. As Ash and his friends journeyed through Sinnoh, they ended up becoming heavily involved with legends of Sinnoh, with Ash being personally chosen by Azelf of the lake guardians. Thanks to their efforts, the Sinnoh region was spared from Cyrus 's insane scheme.
During his battles in the Lily of the Valley Conference , he managed to advance to the Top 4. This caused Paul to finally acknowledge Ash as a Trainer of some merit, thus ending their arguments. Ash later fought against Tobias , becoming the only known Trainer to defeat his Darkrai. In Unova, he brought along only his Pikachu as he did in Hoenn.
After Ash earns their interest by telling Iris of his encounter with Zekrom and battling Cilan for the Trio Badge, the three decide to travel together. Despite battling quite well, Ash failed to win any of the tournaments and managed to be the runner-up of two of the three. Despite these mishaps, he was not upset to see his friends win the competitions instead of him. As they journeyed, Ash and friends ended up again being caught up in Team Rocket's new plot, which was personally being supervised by Giovanni.
This time, Team Rocket planned to take over the world using a Meloetta that Ash befriended to unleash the power of the Forces of Nature. After managing to obtain eight Unova Gym Badges, Ash was allowed to participate in the Vertress Conference along with his current and some new rivals.
In the preliminary round, Ash battled Trip one-on-one, defeating him for the first time and ending their rivalry. Ash also defeated his friend and rival, Stephan , in the tournament. After the Conference, the three friends decided to check out some ruins that Professor Juniper 's father, Cedric Juniper discovered, and on the way, they met with a strange young man named N. They soon became entwined in the plots of Ghetsis , Colress , and Team Plasma as they sought to take over the world using Reshiram 's power.
As their adventures started coming to a close, Ash and his friends decided to take the long way back to Kanto by sailing on a series of luxury liners through a chain of islands called the Decolore Islands.
Soon after they reach Kanto, Ash split up with Iris and Cilan, who wished to go in separate directions to follow their dreams. He was forcibly ejected from the tower when the computerized security system, later revealed to be the Clembot , found out that he didn't have any Kalos Badges. He was rescued by Clemont and Bonnie. Froakie then allowed itself to be captured by Ash, and Clemont and Bonnie started to travel with Ash.
The group was joined by Serena, who still remembered Ash rescuing her in her childhood and decided to start her journey to reunite with him, although he initially did not remember the two of them meeting.
They help Clemont face Clembot, and after the issue was resolved, the two boys promised to battle after Ash fulfilled the original conditions set by Clembot even if it was no longer necessary , to earn four Badges. With that, the group set off on their journey again. During their travels, they occasionally met the ninja boy Sanpei , whose presence always led to progress in Froakie's and later Frogadier 's and Greninja 's strength. During their journey, Ash caught a lost and traumatized Goomy , which he raised into a Sliggoo , and later, a powerful Goodra.
Later, Ash and friends came across Goodra's old home , where they discovered it was taken over by a Florges and her companions. Some time afterward, when Ash reached Laverre City to challenge the Gym , he made a new rival in Sawyer , a novice trainer hailing from Hoenn.
Along the way, Ash would also support Serena in her quest to become Kalos Queen and gave her some helpful advice when she eventually lost, telling her that losing is simply another step towards victory. She revealed his Frogadier's past as a Froakie from before meeting Ash and a glimpse of Frogadier's, his friend's, Sycamore's, Team Rocket's, and his fate, indicating that they would all play a vital role in Kalos's future.
Ash challenged her to a Double Battle , which he won using Frogadier and Talonflame. Some time afterward, Ash and his friends got involved in a conflict in Sanpei's hometown , which led to Frogadier evolving into Greninja, as well as achieving Bond Phenomenon for the first time. During another confrontation with Team Flare in Terminus Cave , Ash learned Bond Phenomenon came at a cost, as he was able to share Greninja's senses, but also share its pain.
Ash put up a decent fight but eventually lost. After his loss against Alain, Ash and Greninja began training to perfect Greninja's new form.
Ash and Greninja later had a rematch with Alain and a battle against Diantha, during the latter Greninja even managed to reach its final Ash-Greninja form. Despite their training, the two were unsuccessful to master the transformation as Ash passed out during both battles from exhaustion from using the form.
After losing a rematch with Sawyer, in which Greninja even failed to transform, Ash began feeling doubtful of his ability to master the transformation. His confidence was shaken further after brutally losing to Wulfric , the Snowbelle Gym Leader. After seeing how badly Greninja got hurt during their battle and blaming himself for the loss, a depressed Ash left into the Winding Woods by himself.
After an argument with Serena, Ash was able to get back to his old self. He later met up with Greninja, and while trying to save a wild Spewpa , the two were able to perfect Bond Phenomenon. With Greninja's Ash-Greninja form perfected, Ash was able to defeat Wulfric in a rematch, earning him his final Kalos Gym Badge and qualifying him for participation in the Lumiose Conference. Following several notable victories, Ash had Goodra rejoin his team for his semi-final battle against Sawyer.
On the night before the final battle, he and his friends learned more about the Ash-Greninja transformation. Ash showed great sincerity and principle following the battle, shaking Alain's hand regardless of the result. During the closing ceremony of the conference, Team Flare began their final operation, using the power of the blue Zygarde Core Z2 to cause massive roots to destroy parts of Lumiose City.
However, upon hearing Pikachu's voice, Ash resisted the machine's influence, even getting Greninja to do the same thing.
After talking some sense into Alain, Ash and Greninja broke free from their bindings by using Bond Phenomenon. Ash and Alain soon engaged in a battle against Lysandre, and ultimately managed to defeat him. When Ash later heard about the Giant Rock , he met up with the rest to combat it. Thanks to everyone's combined effort, Chespie was saved from the Giant Rock. Squishy and Z2 ultimately destroyed the creature, before the two Zygarde left.
Following the crisis, Ash helped Alain and Serena resolve their issues and bade farewell to his rivals. Later, after dropping Goodra off at the wetlands again, the group came across Xerosic , one of Team Flare's Scientists. Ash, his Greninja, and his friends and the gang were ultimately able to foil Xerosic's plans and hand him over to Officer Jenny. The group soon reunited with Squishy and Z2, who requested Greninja's help to obliterate the remaining negative energy left by Team Flare's crisis.
Knowing this was for the sake of Kalos, Ash bade farewell to Greninja before Greninja left with the two Zygarde. After releasing Greninja, Ash and the gang headed back to Lumiose City to say their final goodbyes. Ash traveled with Delia to the Alola region after Mimey won the trip via lottery.
With these discoveries, Ash decided to remain in Alola to study at the school and learn more about Z-Moves, living with Professor Kukui. Later, Tapu Koko challenged Ash and Pikachu to a battle. Ash then decided to take on the island challenge to obtain new Z-Crystals and prove his worth. Also, Ash struck up a friendly rivalry with Lillie's brother Gladion.
One day, Ash was entrusted to take care of a Cosmog by Solgaleo and Lunala , which he saw in a dream. The Cosmog, nicknamed Nebby by Lillie, took a liking to Ash and frequently caused trouble with its ability to teleport people around.
In Faba's Revenge! When Ash and Lillie learned about this, they enlisted Gladion and Lusamine in helping them rescue it. When the four found Faba, they also found that he successfully forced Nebby to summon a Nihilego from an Ultra Wormhole. After Nihilego kidnapped Lusamine and retreated into the Ultra Wormhole, Ash discovered that the incident caused Nebby to evolve into a Cosmoem. When he planned to go to his next Gym, Ash asked Serena what she was going to do next, though seeing that she was unsure he asked her if she wanted to travel with him and the group, an offer that she happily accepted.
However, after being shown the handkerchief he used on her knee back at Professor Oak's camp, Ash remembered meeting Serena when he was little, calling her the "girl with the straw hat. Ash was clueless to Serena's very strong crush on him during their journey, which she never denied her feelings for when asked or confronted as she would become initially embarrassed and tried to keep it a secret.
Much like with Dawn, Ash and Serena hardly have any disagreements and are never judgmental of each other. However, unlike with Dawn or rather with every other female companion , Ash doesn't annoy Serena at all with his antics. Serena even goes the extra mile in that even when scolding Ash, she's much gentler and doesn't show nor conceal her temper towards him, hinting that she knows some appropriate ways to be firm whilst keeping her cool.
Despite all this, however, they did have a fallout with each other when Ash snapped at Serena for not understanding his feelings, after initially losing a Gym battle for his last Kalos badge. This fight wasn't entirely an argument though like with most of Ash's previous female companions as Serena was only trying to help him snap out of his depression. As such, after realizing that she was just trying to help, Ash felt guilty for being so hard on Serena, who in turn, felt guilty believing that she made the scene worse by yelling back at him and that he was out in the blizzard as a result of their argument.
As Serena attempted to apologize to him for lashing back at him, Ash stopped her to show how truly sorry he was for hurting her by thanking her for talking and knocking, due to being thrown a couple of snowballs, some sense into him. Ash has faith in Serena as he trusts her to keep his Bond Phenomenon power hidden from anyone that isn't their friend.
Before going their separate ways, Ash was pleased when Serena said that she was glad that she came with him and that he was going to like the person she grows into the next time they see each other. However, Ash became stunned when Serena leaned forward and kissed him, shocking all of their friends. Also, Ash knows his friendship with Serena will remain strong even when they are apart.
However, although they're friends, Ash gets annoyed with Lana's jokes at times, but never truly had any disagreements with her. During Ash's time in Alola, he and Lana went on adventures together, although they were sometimes joined by Mallow. Ash appreciates Lana support in becoming the first Champion of Alola. However, Ash and Lana went their separate ways as he decided to return home to continue his journey while she stayed in Alola to go fishing for Manaphy with her dad.
Although, they remained friends until the end, shown when he briefly revisited Alola. During their time in Alola, they were often there to help cheer each other up whenever one of them was feeling down. Like with Max and Bonnie, Ash would go through great lengths to protect Lillie from danger. Also, Ash helped Lillie and Gladion save their friends and Lusamine from Ultra Space, earning her appreciation even more. Like what he did for Serena, Ash gave Lillie good advice as he helped her perfect her Z-Moves, although she didn't get what meant at first, and supported her.
They both didn't have any disagreements as Ash would stand up for Lillie and she has done the same for him. Also, Ash was very happy that Lillie supported him in becoming Champion of Alola. Ash and Lillie parted ways when he decided to continue his own journey while she left to go on a journey to find her long lost father. However, they gave each other thanks for everything they did for one another.
Despite being apart, Ash knows his friendship with Lillie will always be with him. Also, during a visit in Alola, Ash was happy that Lillie was doing ok on her journey to find her father and hopes to see her again as she hopes the same for him. They encourage and support each other as they provide assistance to each other whenever they need it.
Although, Ash and Sophocles could disagree at times but get over it quickly. Like how he acted with Clemont, Ash is impressed with Sophocles' know how and his inventions. One special gift that Ash gave to Sophocles was a Charjabug initially meant to be a farewell gift.
After becoming Champion of Alola, Ash was very happy that Sophocles supported him till the end. Ash and Sophocles parted ways when he decided to return to Kanto in order to resume his journey and the latter left for Hoenn.
However, Ash and Sophocles both know that their friendship will always be there no matter where they are, shown when they briefly reunited when he visited Alola. Like Brock and Cilan, Ash is impressed with Mallow's cooking. During their time in Alola, Ash and Mallow went on adventures together, sometimes they had Lana accompany them. They are often there to support and assist each other whenever they need it.
Ash and Mallow hardly ever had any arguments with each other. Also, Ash greatly appreciates Mallow support in becoming Champion of Alola. However, they remained friends even though they were apart. During a visit from Alola, Ash was pleased that Mallow wanted to celebrate his visit and meeting his new friend, Goh. The two have an extremely strong, almost familial bond.
After battling him twice and being defeated both times, Ash was told by the Masked Royal that his Incineroar and Ash's Incineroar, during his time as a Torracat, were officially rivals. When fighting as the Double Royals, their battling coordination and teamwork were so good that James said, "Those two are so in sync, you'll never know it's their first time. Ash was very happy that Professor Kukui watched him become Champion of Alola. After finding out his identity, Ash was shocked that the Masked Royal and Professor Kukui were the same person at first.
However, Ash became excited about it since he didn't care about how long Professor Kukui kept his secret. Ash and Kukui eventually had to part ways when he decided to return to Kanto, but their bond remained intact.
Ever since Professor Burnet married Kukui and moved in with Ash, she has acted as a mother figure to the boy. Although, unlike Delia sometimes, Ash doesn't get embarrassed by Professor Burnet as she usually doesn't say anything that would freak him out or nervous. They are both huge fans of the Masked Royal, although they were both clueless at first that it was actually Professor Kukui along with Ash's classmates. However, Ash, his classmates, and Professor Burnet eventually found out about the Masked Royal's identity, which ended up just making them admire him even more.
Ash even appreciates Professor Burnet support in becoming Champion of Alola. Before going back home to resume his journey, Ash thanked Professor Burnet for everything, knowing they'd always be friends no matter the distance. When Ash first met Chloe, she was very shy as she often is with new acquaintances. She seemed rather suspicious of Ash and quickly shuffled away without talking to him.
This suspicion was probably made stronger because of her father's Yamper electrocuting him. For some time onward, despite Ash's nice and friendly nature, Chloe would often freeze up whenever he spoke to her. However, Ash has been able to get Chloe to trust him more as she has got to know him better and they formed a friendship with each other.
Chloe even helped Ash patch things up between him and Pikachu, who had become lonely and jealous about the time his partner was spending over training Riolu instead of him. Ash first met Goh when they jumped on Lugia at the same time. Ash would help Goh whenever he needed it and he would do the same for him. Despite their friendship, Ash and Goh at times do clash but do makeup in the end.
Much like how he was with Misty and Kiawe, Ash can be competitive with Goh at times. Ash even helps Goh understand that some of his traits need fixing since he shares some of the same traits that he once had. Also, similar to what Brock and Cilan did for him, Ash helps Goh see through his mistakes from time to time. Although he heard about him through the professors, Ash officially meets Lei during a visit to Alola while reuniting with Professor Burnet and Professor Kukui.
Lei was very excited to meet Ash, seeing him as a big brother figure. Ash and Gary have known each other since they were little, as they grew up together.
Despite their rivalry, Ash and Gary still looked out for each other at times, showing that they were still friends. During their time in Johto, Ash and Gary were able to mend their friendship, as they grew close to one another again. Ash gets annoyed when Gary teases him from time to time, but it's all in good fun.
Ash is close friends with Kiawe. While they're usually on good terms, Ash and Kiawe also share a friendly rivalry with each other. Much like how he was with Misty, Ash is also competitive with Kiawe from time to time as they do sometimes argue, though they get over their disagreements quickly. Despite their rivalry and competitiveness, the two boys are always ready to lend a hand to each other. Also, Ash liked that Kiawe had faith in him when he became Champion of Alola. Butterfree and Ash shared a tearful goodbye, as Butterfree went off with its new mate to reproduce.
Butterfree sadly never reunited with Ash, although Ash has fondly remembered it at various points. Ash would later use Pidgeotto in battle against Brock and Misty , in their roles as gym leaders. Things got dramatic in the episode "Pallet Party Panic," in which Ash headed back home to Pallet Town, only to encounter the Spearow he had tried and failed to catch early on.
To defeat Fearow, Pidgeotto needed to evolve into Pidgeot. Ash promised to come back for him later, but so far never has. While Ash had really wanted to catch a Bulbasaur from the beginning, it wasn't until episode 10, "Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village" that he ended up with one. However, once Team Rocket invaded, Ash proved his mettle, and Bulbasaur ultimately agreed to join him if he was defeated in battle.
